Thanks to the help from you guys on the Forum, my interior is finished and it's time to put the bumpers etc. on.
Are washers used on the bolts holding the bumper brackets to the frame ends? Are the bolts painted or plain?

From my memory the bolts on my 1934 were chrome plated as were the lock washers.....Bolts had smooth heads and no flat washers.
The threads were rusted so I used standard bolts and painted every thing black.

The front bummper has a special cover on each side, one having the plate holder on it, which act as the washers.

Stu, this is what he means. This is a back view. They go over the bumper bracket.

If they are cad. plated the modern way they will look like ordinary bolts...Then I would paint them black.

Thanks for posting that picture, I had no idea there were parts like that, supposed to be on the car.

I used the step idea for the plate for my 35 standard and constructed one a few years ago to keep the plate straight.

The 1933 to 1935 Standard uses something similar to those Pat has posted. Those that Pat has pictures of are 1934 Master only...Joe

The clamp was used on CC, DC, EC, FC, ED & FD & was square. It does show cad plated bolt for attaching hardware....Joe

thanks JOE, pulled out my 1929---1934 Chevrolet parts book and BINGO , exact numbers. If one was just looking thru the book they would never know what the book was talking about without pictures.

Good thing those pictures were posted here for all to see. Anybody have a pair.????????

Bruce.......At least I now know that the parts were made for the standard. And roughly what they should look like.

My 29--34 parts book lists them 473826 & 473827 but no pictures

ANYBODY HAVE PICTURES TO SHOW WHAT THE STANDARDS LOOK LIKE ??

Whether or not I will be able to locate a pair is something else.

Your right about finding a pair, I had to make one for my car. I've looked for years and never saw an original one for the left side.

I have both of the different pairs for the cars I own & they were a bear to hunt down. All I can say is when you talk to people on the phone, ask them if they have extras. Not everybody just put stuff up for sale & no I don't have extras at the moment. I know a guy who has 2 LH on a car because he didn't want to run a front plate....Joe
