My country horns work great (loud and a fun "show off"), but I noticed the wires coming from inside the horns are frayed (insulation breaking away). Is there a way to gain access to the inside wiring to replace the wires? I noticed a screw in the center of back (rounded part) of the horns...what does that do? Can the trumpet part of the horns come off? I noticed large nuts toward the ends of the trumpets. I was wondering about replacing the rubber gaskets where the trumpets pass thru the brace. Does anyone know where the correct color can be found, preferably in a can readymade.
Best wishes and thanks in advance...Summers almost here and it's time to get back to work on the '39,
Chuck

yes the screw will remove the back cover on the horns and will expose the main wire so it can be replaced also the two bolts can be loosened and the trumpet part of the horn can be unscrewed and you will be able to replace the two rubbers , the color i beleive is the same as the engine gray color sold by the filling station

The gray used on the horns is a lighter gray than the engine color and not quite as blue.
