Enjoy while it lasts. Ice age can't be too far away. At least history predicts it. Didn't check the Farmer's to verify.

How far South will it go? Here in Northwestern Mississippi; it has been very cold. Most mornings I am having 24 degrees with frozen ground....even though the high for the day may reach into the low 50's or high to mid 40's for about fifteen minutes. I had ice on the roads on the night of the sixth (6th) of December. I had snow (on top of ice)on the seventh (7th) of December! Going to be one of those years when the snow builds up against the North side of the house and blows over the top! Good luck you folks up North!

Jerry,
Should have kept your thoughts to yourself. Challenging Mother Nature get you frost bite or worse.

I'd prefer he just keep his weather to himself. Here in N.H. it is 38 and raining today. Come New Years eve Jerry's cold weather settles in. Forecast calls for -20.

If you choose to live well above the Mason-Dixon line, then you have nothing to complain about.

It's so nice in sunny NC that I sometimes feel guilty for not working on the 41 project. But it passes. Nice shower yesterday followed with Carolina Blue skys. About 70 degrees here during daytime hours. brrr! Who can work in such chily weather? My garage is unheated. I must get one of those blower things that looks like a jet engine only hotter. Mercy! Agrin

Any of you up there around the Canadian border ever heard of Florida? Agrin

I believe it was -48 in northern Mn yesterday but no wind so that helped. I'm about 200 miles south and had only -24 and no wind. It does raise heck on the wood pile though. -9 right now.

Today in parts of South Australia, it will reach 49 degrees Celsius, after about 47 yesterday.

49 Celsius is 120F so if we had -49F {I'm not counting Canada because they are most of the time colder} that would be a 168 degrees Fahrenheit difference on the same day. OK. I'm not complaining, I can dress for the cold. australia usa canada rolllaugh

In my part of Aus we often get daytime high of 38 to 39 c but so far this year we have been unlucky to get a high of 32 (I dont mind) not that I believed the man caused warming theory anyway.

This our references to celsius and Farenhith (I can't even spell it) scale is confusing. The only place on their scales that they match is at -40. Other than that they go their own way. I don't know what 20 celsius is in Farenhith.

I think the US is behind times by its insistence on using the Farenhith scale. Must be some we held over from being under the British rule. Don't know. I don't know why we hang on to it either.

Two things:

It was colder than a witches teat here in good ol NC yesterday and will be even colder on Friday. Not supposed to quite get to 50F on Friday. I can't take much of this cold snap. I'm thinking of moving to FL.

To those of you in the upper usa and canada and all the Scandinavian countries, I hope you survive this winter. To our newzealand australia friends I hope you survive the summer. I think maybe P.K. and MrMack are the only one of us living in a place that is just right all year round.

I think global warming is real. Me must quit eating beef and eat "mo chickin."

It was 51 degrees and raining here in southern N.H. today. Kinda made me feel bad for all the "scientist" in Antarctica stuck in the ice looking for proof of global warming. The weather in New England is never boring and if you don't like what you have no need to worry, it will not be the same tomorrow. Just a couple days ago it was -13 and topped out at +6.
