Can someone post a picture of a backup lamp for a 1940 Chevrolet Sedan? Is it identical to the 1948 Chevrolet?

thank you

The 1939-41 lamps are the same. The mounting brackets are different for all those years. The 1939 and 1940 mounted on the side of the trunk, the 1941 on the rear body to bumper splash pan.1942 and 1946 has a rectangular lamp that used what looked like a 1941 parking lamp lens. The 1947-48 had a larger round lamp.

Here are a couple pictures of a very high point 1940 Business Coupe. (The Toolman's) The sedan used the same light I believe.

Thats a 1947-48 lamp-I sent you a picture of the 1939-40---also the 1940 lamp mounted higher, more up on the side of the trunk...

The 1940 Chevrolet sedan and coupe/convertible all used the same back-up light. The only difference was the mounting location on the body.
I have original 1940 back-up light mounting information. Email me.
