My 57 283 power pak 3 speed overdrive intermittently blows the fuse. I have had the solenoid and the relay tested and the amp draw is fine. I have not checked the kickdown switch. It will sometimes work fine for several days and other times blow the fuse quickly. Any ideas? Thanks, Dale

It may be a good idea to trace the wires and look to see if its rubbed through and causing a intermittent short.

I had the same problem in my 67 and the speed Governor was at fault.

Thanks for input. I had traced the wiring and had not found any problem. I replaced the speed governor and so far all is well. A valuable tip, when looking for overdrive parts search Borg Warner R 10 not Chevrolet overdrive. Many manufacturers used Borg Warner R 10 so many more parts are available this way.
