Put the windshield in the 31 Phaeton. There is a gap between the windshield frame and the piece that bolts to the cowl. The WS frame has a "T Slot" in the bottom and on both sides, apparently for some kind of rubber flap to fill the gap. Looking at the Filling Station September 2012 catalog, page 151 it shows various types of weather-strip but it is hard to tell exactly which one is supposed to fit this application. Anyone have some advice?

Also, there are two holes in the upright frame adjacent to the windshield frame. Is there supposed to be a rubber bumper in these holes?

Since car had been in fire, all this stuff was burned and melted, so hard to tell from the original.

Thanks, Ron

Last question first.Yes there are rubber bumpers in the w/s uprights. Filling Station or Steele Rubber has them. First question. Yes there is a "T" shaped rubber flap that seals the bottom of the windshield to the w/s panel. The "T" at the top of the flap is small and I found it hard to locate. I can't give you the exact measurement because my car is not available.

The lower windshield gasket is just a strip of what is referred to as tee-rubber. I have installed a one inch wide strip on my 31 Phaeton. Restorations specialties and supply in Windber, Pa and Steele should also carry 1 inch tee- rubber. Look at restoration specialties catalog, part # 4531 VCCA 18184

NO..............your 33 uses a metal strip from post to post that has a rubber piece with bottom shaped like a dovetail joint that stops the glass from moving backwards. All this is mounted on a rubber piece that goes post to post with 8 holes in it , so nothing gets scratched. LYNN STEELE sells all the rubber its in his catalogue.

Now re the T rubber for the side of the wind shield frame. Steele has a few of them, I ordered the *wrong one* a little too thick and its a real tight fit so better to order an inexpensive length of 2-3 types in order to find which one fits properly.
