Give the Filling Station a call. They sold them at one time and may know if they will be reproduced again.

Hi George...I was looking for the same thing for several years and finally bid on the real thing on e-Bay. I've seen a few show up since, you just have to watch. I'll keep my eyes open...I check e-Bay everyday. When you finally get one, it'll have a lot more meaning.
Best wishes,
Chuck

I called every antique/repro parts seller I could find looking for a floormat. I was told that there was a single source for repro floor mats and that the maker died. Once in a while a NOS mat will show up on eBay, one was still unopened in it's original package but I'd be scared of the condition of the rubber. I gave up looking for my 38 coupe and made my own. I used what was left of my original mat as a pattern. It doesn't have the OEM markings but for a driver it works really well. I was so pleased that I sold a few on Ebay & received generally good reviews. If you do find a source for repros that look like the original please get the word out.

The replacement mats that were made by the now deceased person were not made from the poor quality rubber that dried out as the factory mats did.I have one of the first ones made in my '39, must be over 20 years old, and its still like new.The material seems to be part plastic or something and is really tough.

Same question for a 1940 sedan. Are they the same as for a '39 and does anyone make them?

The 1937-39 mats are basicly the same. The 1940 mat is a one year thing - as are most of the 1940 body parts. The 1941-48 mat would be the most simular although it would be too wide.
Thru the years I have never seen correct reproduction 1940 mat. They are just too expensive to reproduce and too limited market for the one year only. And the Special DeLuxe is the only model with a carpet insert.

There were two types of repo 41 - 48 mats. One had the carpet insert like the original - part of the mat. The other had the carpet insert glued on the rubber. The first one hasn't been available for years, but maybe the second one is. The rubber on both is OK and maybe on ebay one of these mats will turn up. Either would probably work on the '40 by trimming and the glued insert is easily removed...

Try Pegs Vintage Auto parts www.pegsvintageauto.com - they only list 37-39 black but it is lined with jute.

*&@(*)! sorry guys, it's

http://pegsvintageparts.com

I haven't bought from them but there was a groundup resto on the web for a 39 Chevy and he bought parts from them without problems.

I suppose you have tried Hampton Coach Interiors. I got a complete upholstry kit from them including a front floor mat for my '41 Coupe. Right color and fit good. In fact the complete kit was easy to install and looks great.

I called Peg's some time back and they told me they didn't have any. They just hadn't taken the listing off of the web page. That was one of the places that told me about the single source maker passing away. If one of you calls and they have found another maker post it please.

FYI: I called Hampton Coach about the floor mats for I also need some but they told me they do not have & do not think anyone is making them.
I will keep loking & if I find any I will let you know.

I am also looking for carpeting/floor mats for my '40 Special Deluxe 2 Dr. I will check with Hampton, but if not available, do you know if the carpeting colors were matched to the exterior, more or less?

If you will call Hamptons & tell them your car trim info they will send you a sample set of complete interior materials for your car.
