My 38 seems to have a single fuse that reads 30 A/ 32 V/ 311. The book calls for 20 amps. Should I replace this fuse? If I remember, the 20 amp fuse will blow sooner, is that right? So, if I leave the 30 amp in there, is it reducing my protection?
And the 2nd question: I know what 30A and 32V mean, but what is the 311?

The "stock" fuse for a 1938 was 25 amp. In 1939 they increased the fuse to a 30 Amp. If you have dual tail lamps and am using brighter (higher candle power)bulbs, I would go with the 30 Amp.
