Today I removed the generator from my 1931 restoration project and have a couple questions about the brackets. One bracket has a long slot in it so belt tension can be adjusted. Question #1: should this bracket be flat? Mine has a double bend in it but I can't tell for sure if that is the way it left the factory. The other generator bracket is "u" shaped and supports the generator from below. There are four holes drilled in it - two for bolts that go directly into the engine block and two others for bolts that go through the generator end plates. Question #2: should these latter two holes be tapped/threaded? On my bracket they appear to be but it could just be wear. Both brackets seem to have been painted engine blue-gray. Sound correct? As always, many thanks for your help. Tom
