I'm thinking about putting an electronic ignition in my '31 Chevy. I would like to hear pros and cons about this idea. Thanks to all.

I haven't done it but I've read both good and bad. FWIW this should have been posted in one of the technical forums on Chat. This forum is for issues with Chat (IT, computer type issues). Someone with more first hand experience with electronic ignition will likely be along shortly. Good luck with it.

First I would ask you What do you expect to gain from an electronic ignition? Reliability? Ease of repairs? Better gas mileage? Or just want to believe that since your new car has one it must be better?
I wouldn't put an electronic ignition in a '31 Chevy that you planned to drive without backup help (like AAA, tow rope or following truck and trailer). I had one on my '28 Chevy that I agreed to try for the supplier. Paid attention to all the precautions on wiring, not leaving ignition switch one, etc. Worked great for a couple of years, then quit. The proposed fix was another module for $ 70+. Went back to points, that I can fix on the roadside!
