Chevrolet only mentioned the float drop because the float level was checked with a gauge. A cheap version of the gauge comes with any rebuild kit.

Are you maybe working on a Rochester model B carb? The Rochhester Monajet is a entirely different carb than the old familar Rochester Model B _BC carbs used on 216, 235, 261 6 cylinder engines from 1951 thru 1962
This a Rochester model BC (one with an automatic choke)

A Rochester Monojet is a 60s era carburetor. The typical replacement would be a B series Rochester. Will need to get a rebuild sheet for it or look in a 60s Chevrolet, Motors or Chilton manual.

Hello kendaLL, I want to apologize,

Upon further investigation, I was wrong in posting the pics from my Motors Manual.
This Rochester is particular to 1949 Oldsmobile only and I over looked that. For whatever reason no other Rochester is listed in the carb section of my manual.
