There was another 1932 roadster on ebay recently which was a US export model RHD . the fenders were plain with no beadings around the lip edges whatsoever.

I do not know much about 32 roadsters............but he has this listed as a 32 STANDARD ROADSTER..........question .....was there a 32 standard and deluxe roadsters and if so what was the differences ?????????? This one has side mounts, luggage rack , and would seem to be a deluxe ? What I do not like about this is that he says he has it listed privately and will sell it at any time, so why even bid on the item ? That's whats wrong with the way ebay runs their shop. If the item is listed on ebay you should not be able to end the listing after 12 hours running, it has to run to completion and you cannot end it early to somebody who wants to offer a deal on the side. As we discussed on some 33 master fenders in another thread. Ebay is doing themselves a disservice in that a $10,000 car for example, they get ZERO FEES for selling it. Only the listing fees. They are allowing the seller to cheat them. So how does one get nailed for "avoiding selling fees " by ebay.? No idea, but sounds like they are not operating at 100% . mike

Mike... The 1932 Standard lacks the chrome doors on the hood, twin horns, and the chrome cowl lights, amongst other differences. The trunk and side mounts were dealer installed options, so this car seems correct. I agree on your Ebay thoughts as well. The owner should just list the buy it now price if that's the route they are going to take...

Yes, there is a 1932 Standard Roadster. Here are some of the differences between the Standard Roadster and the Deluxe Sport Roadster: From the factory the Standard Roadster had no sidemounts, no cowl lights, painted hood doors and a trunk. The Deluxe Sport Roadster had a rumble seat, chromed hood doors, sidemounts, and cowl lights.

Just for clarification the trunk Skipper listed was in the body not installed behind the body. A trunk lid versus rumble seat lid was the major difference.

Body looks a little tired. Door sag is a sign of rotted wood in the frame, is it not? A big patch on the drivers side. Is that the gas tank mounted to the cowl? And can someone identify that steering wheel?
All of that said, I'd still love to have it!

After going back and studying the pictures, this looks like it could be a good buy, ITS ALL THERE. I like the hood doors painted rather than chromed which is a little garish. The banjo steering wheel floating above the stock steering wheel is an interesting sight. no idea what going on with that.........some weird early aftermarket option.?? The folding top wood surround compartment looks like it may have been replaced at some point, as the pieces do mot line up. Also there is new bright shiny nail heads into it. Looks like somewhere along the line the lower drivers side quarter panel has been repaired with a patch. I would say this looks like a good buy to restore, as it appears all there. It would not be cheap to restore. It could also be overhauled with brakes and tires and whatever else and done up as an original survivor car??? just my 3 cents mike

Interesting to note... although springing for the optional side mounts, the owner left the two piece rear bumper (that would have split the rear mount spare) intact.

The Trunk Rack looks strange to me as well as painted doors on the hood. Is it US built?

The painted doors on the hood are correct for a standard. The trunk rack does look funny, and may be aftermarket.

Love the single spare sidemount. Never seen a trunk rack like that but it looks authentic. Are the front bumper(push bar) and fog light options or add ones???

At 10k I think you would be in "trouble". It will only need another 25k to restore-provided you do all the labor.

Love the single spare sidemount. Never seen a trunk rack like that but it looks authentic. Are the front bumper(push bar) and fog light options or add ones??? The bumper guard in the center of the bumper looks wrong and maybe homemade. Just doesn't have any real shape to it, doesn't match the car. The grill guard triangle shape, I associate those more with appearing on fords of the 29--40 era. The horn looks like an aftermarket ahooga design. The orangie/yellow fog light could be from any era. I thought that the luggage rack looked authentic. Doesn't I & I repo sell one like that, that folds up . Not in their catalogue. It also looks like one that's sold for 28--31 fords. mike

It is relatively common to have the fender guards (aka bumperettes) left on when a trunk rack was added. Rack in this case is not Chevrolet. Horn is okay. There are also a few other parts used to personalize the car. Basically it is a relatively well preserved on Chevy.

Did anyone notice the drivers side door hinge and brace in the upper inside corner? How about the hole in he top of the passenger side rear fender? The car is really complete but looks like it needs a lot. Lets think.....10k purchase price, 8k chrome, 10k wood, 5k body, 5k interior. Hopefully the buyer gets his labor for free. I would think it's not easy to get over 40k for one these days.
