Hello. I need to buy the fuel gauge for my 1928 Chevy but I do not know how it is. Someone could put a picture of it? Thank you very much. Sorry for my poor English.

Here is a picture of the gas gauge: (the lower part of the gauge in the middle). Click on the picture to enlarge and click again on the enlarged picture to see better. http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/19392/lot/309/Where do you live in Argentina?

Solan, thanks for the reply. But I mean the mechanical fuel gauge that is placed in the fuel tank. Not if I'm wrong or take one with the scale which is displayed on the tank through a glass. Is that correct?
I live in the province of Buenos Aires in a city called Ituzaingo.
Sorry for my poor English.

Never mind, I found it, it appears that the former owner painted the site glass, its on the right hand side. I also just received my magazine (really great) and the article on the 27 Chevy said that the 27 Chevy was the first to have the gauge.

Glad you found it. The last gauge I found for sale went for more than $300 on Ebay. I was lucky enough to find a NOS gauge in the original packaging for $42 about 18 months ago. I use it as a template for restoring my in tank gauge and to send pictures to others who want to know what an original looked like. Its part of my 28 Chevy parts display.

yes I feel lucky, I have been checking everything to make sure that it is all original and the number match for the 27 Chevy. I am doing some custom power coating (just adding a personal touch) I have the carb, the valve cover, dip stick, generator inspection plate and the air cleaner power coated in copper. I also replace and cleaned all the copper lines. When doing this I found that the number 1 cylinder valve was stuck open, so I am redoing the head with modern valves and springs. I any one is looking for 7 original valves, keepers and 8 springs let me know. The 8th valve is pretty pitted.
