My wheelwells are rusted and need replacing. I can get the outer panels but what about the inners? The worst is the center metal below that access panel on the inside. I thought someone made this but can't find one. I can't figure out how to make this panel and was thinking that i'm not the only one working on this type of problem and would like someones ideas on how thay fixed this area.

thanks for any help

My idea would be to try and find a donor parts car from a dry rust free area, (Texas, New Mexico or Arizona) I had a Kansas 51 Belaire I meant to restore but after buying it I found it was a rust bucket and used it for drive-line and interior parts and crushed the rest of it, the frame was even rusted beyond any hope for restoration. Before going any further with your work be sure that the frame and components are going to be worth working on.

Pete, I believe that the panels that you are looking for are available from a company called Autobody Specialties. I dont have any connection to this company, but I have seen some of the parts that they offer when they were displayed ae Spring Carlisle this year. They appeared in my opinion to be of high quality. Look in the Early Chevy 49-57 section for wheel houses. I hope this helps. Steve This is the web site.[url=http://www.autobodyspecialt.com]
