Rocker panel trim is one piece on the 2dr sedan, from the front wheel well to the start of the rear fender, don't know about other models.

Yep, one piece and they are now hard to find. Near as I can tell, all models used the same piece/s. The ones that came on my '41 are a bit dinted. They can be fixed. But, someone else can fix 'em. Fortunately, I have an NOS pair I'm gonna put on the '41.
I bought 'em 50 years ago along with several other sets of NOS Chevy runningboard stainless trim. I'm having a bit of trouble identifying the runningboard strips since I don't have parts catalogs.

While the one piece is correct, I'm thinking that if one installs the foot scrapers then the rocker moulding has to be cut into two pieces. Isn't this so? Charlie

Thanks fella's Evidently previous owner found some kind of strip that fit,(and it doesn't look out of place) but only along the body. We're not goin "concourse" but like original. Found a NOS pair all polished like new for 750.00, can't decide if it's justified. This dang car is just like havin a boat (a hole in the water that you jus keep throwin money in). Regards, Olmike

Not even close to a BOAT or airplane. When it quits you can walk home. Only know of one that could walk home from a dead boat. Still looking for the one from the plane.

I watched an NOS pair on ebay a few months back. They went for $290 delivered (from poor memory).
Some can take the dents, etc. out of stainless trim very successfully. I have no idea how expensive it is.

Hi Olmike, welcome to chat. The replies are correct..One piece from front fender opening to front of rear fender. All 41 models and right and left are required. $750 is the highest price I've seen. I think Gather is right $300 should buy an NOS pair but shipping could add another $100. I have an NOS right you can have for $100 but again shipping will cost the same for one as for two. Jay

That's a goood price!
I've shipped the straight stainless in PVC pipe. I had to make a wooden perimeter (metal angle braces $ screws) laced down with stiff cardboard (staples) to ship a '50 Chevie rear fender stainless piece. That sucker is long! You'll likely have to do the same to ship a '41 rocker strip.
Today,I shipped a '36 Packard 120 Grille Shroud by Greyhound in a crate I had to build using 2"X2" wood, steel angle braces, screws and 2" screws&nuts. Cost $33 material & $59.25 to Greyhound. That piece was a b#*&h to crate!
I'd sell my somewhat boogered pair of '41 rocker mouldings for $60 plus $25 to crate plus actual USPS cost. They'll need work to be really nice. I wouldn't sell 'em at all if I didn't have an NOS pair to go on the '41.

Define boogered up, can ya take a pic and email me? Better yet if there's no splits or cracks I'd take 'em if they're repairable??? Thanks, Mike olmike@earthlink.net

Olmike, regretably, I don't have a camera. I'll inspect 'em carefully tomorrow and give you a detailed report. I've slept since I looked at 'em. They are about 15 miles from here.
Thanks, Gaither

MR59, that sounds great, if they'll go in the pipe. 'Have to take one to the store to see. I hate building crates! Trouble is, I don't make decent sawdust, let alone a decent cut.
Thanks! Gaither

I go to a carpet store and look for an empty heavy cardboard carpet roll tube. Have shipped many moulding this way and never had a problem.

Thanks! Gaither i use a cutoff wheel, but home depot lets you use the saw station they have, you can make your cuts before you leave the store.just the 8 or 9 dollar tube with the holes on the sides work great, and don`t add all the extra weight for postage costs. and almost impossible to crush, so postoffice proof!

Gene, I've used carpet tubes in the past. Now, it's about a 30-mile round trip to go get 'em.
MR 59, Thanks. I'm gonna look into that.

Olmike, I notice your location shows to be in Texas, where are you located in Texas? I have two R/H 1941 rocker panel mldgs. that were removed from a dealership several years ago, they have a twist in the front fender area, I think one can be repaired. I am not interested in shipping them. I will be in Galveston at the area 6 joint tour Sept. 19-22, and at Lone Star Swap Meet in Grand Prairie Sept. 27-28. I live in Arlington.

Olmike, well, these rocker strips are worse than I remembered. We have 'em off the car as we have the front clip off. They can be saved if you have someone really good with stainless trim repair. I don't know how costly that might be since I've never had it done.
Mike, I'm withdrawing my offer to sell 'em to you because of the condition. However, I'll donate 'em if you're interested in having 'em fixed. If you'll pay for packaging and USPS. I'll have to see if they'll go in a PVC pipe. I'll leave it up to you. 'Sounds like you are getting some much better offers on much better pieces.
Thanks, Gaither

OLmike,I checked that molding the morning and I was wrong, it’s a left side and not perfect. I bought a it 10 or more years ago for the woodie and while NOS it has been repaired. Photo #002 shows where a hole was soldered A good repair but not show quality. If you want to wait for a better one(as I did) I wouldn't blame you. I’ll make you a better price say $50 if you can use it. Good luck with your 41, Jay (41carguy) ![[Linked Image from i1232.photobucket.com]](http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/ff361/9teenforty1/2013-09-12001003.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i1232.photobucket.com]](http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/ff361/9teenforty1/2013-09-12001002.jpg)

I have owned a handful of 41`s , and during all the parts searching I did notice that GM made two styles of 1941 rocker trim, 1) was made from a single layer of stainless 2) was made like the more common 1935 through 1942 rocker trim, a 2 piece layer design, a thin stainless outter, with a steel inside backing. the 2 piece design can be repaired, but by an experienced metal man, I have had good luck savng a few sets. but the best ones to find, are the solid 1 layer stainless ones, those can be fixed very easy, if they get damaged
