OK, Working on my restoration for my 1930 Chevrolet AD Universal - Canopy Express Truck (Huckster) I am looking for the Air Cleaner. I have seen several different models. Which one is correct and what does it actually look like. In my Master parts List here is what is listed:

Air Cleaner 1.00 864131

Also I know that many of the parts on my 1930 are from the passenger models, BUT there are a few exceptions for Truck parts. I just want to make sure that I am getting the correct Air Cleaner for my 1930.

If anyone has one for sale or know where I can get one, please let me know. PM me or post info on here. Thanks !!

The air cleaner for 1930 was a one year only application. It looked like a large, round tuna fish can with a dome on top of the air cleaner and fins on the back of the air cleaner. The air cleaner also had a neck on the back that inserted into the air horn of the Carter carburetor. On the side of the neck was a short nipple for a tube that went from the oil filler tube on the engine to the air cleaner.

I may have what you need. Mine has the fins on the front side, not the carb side. One is 1 1/2" thick and the other about 2". Not sure from Skips disc. which side the fins are on.

'29 Air Cleaner has fins and air inlet on side opposite the carb. '30 has fins and air inlet on side next to the carb. Otherwise look generally the same.

Guess that means you didn't bid high enough. The sale price is not outrageous.

iagree I have seen the 1930 air cleaners sell for prices beyond the closing bid that was on eBay.

Yep, around $150 to $175 for a 1930 air cleaner in nice condition is about right.

lol... Thanks Guys, I was a watcher. Did not have any time to bid or see it end. To much excitement (SARCASTIC) around here the last week or so. Hoping things calm down this week so I can catch up and get back to normal.

Sad Part, I went out and got some supplies to start working on my frame, and they are still sitting in the bag by my back door where I placed them last week :/ Have not even been in my garage...

The one on the left with the domed back and a slot in the side is for 1930 only and the one on the right that is flat on the back with no slots on the side is for 1931 only. When I say back I mean the side that faces the firewall.

Ok, take a look at these:

Huckster: Air Cleaner

Pictures Labeled as 01a & 01b then 02a & 02b are in regards to the Question above, which year are they from/ used on.

Now looking at the Silver/ Plain metal Version, this is what I have on hand in my box of Parts for my 1930. It seems this is for the 1931 NOT the 1930 per above comments, Is this Correct ??

If so i am willing to trade the 1931 for a 1930 w/ tube if anyone has one and interested, if not i would be willing to sell out right and search for a 1930 version. Or if you have a 1930 Air Cleaner w or w/o tube for sale.

PM me if interested !!

Was the air cleaner painted or left unfinished. If painted, I assume Black. Glossy or satin? The ones I have seen for sale are either media blasted or plain steel. Thanks...

The 1930 air cleaner was painted with a black Japan enamel, which had a glossy finish.
