Confused about tire specs for 1928 chev truck. Does a 30 inch tire fit on a 21 inch rim? Do spoke wheels and disk wheels have the same rim size?

If your truck is a 1/2 ton (AB chassis), the tires will be the same size as the AB car (21 inch rim x 4.5 tires (21" plus 2 times the height of the tire (9") gives an outside diameter of 30")). If the truck is a one ton (LO or LP), the tire size is different (20 inch rim x 5.00 tires (20" plus 2 times the height of the tire (10") gives an outside diameter of 30").

There's a good description of how the old tire sizes worked here: https://vccachat.org/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/217690/Searchpage/1/Main/34795/Words/%2Btire+%2Bsize+%2B30/Search/true/Re_26_wheels#Post217690
