rebuilt the distbutor, rebuilt carb, ck'ed tdc mark and cam alignment, what am I missing?

can get it started, will idle rough and if i hit the gas pedal it stalls out

replaced the secondary jet tube (not correct name) , the stand pipe, the float, and even put in an elec fuel pump and reg (which i didn't want to do)

the dist is adjusted for best running but it sounds like its misfiring, when i let out the clutch it dies instantly, car just barely move a few inches on level ground (ya the parking brake is off...now).

pulled the timing gear cover and ck'ed the timing, set it to 13 teeth from the cam key. do you count the 1'st tooth or is it 13 teeth not counting the one in line with the cam key way?

any suggestion will help

thanks. ron

Place the two marks together for the cam and crank gear IF THE CAM GEAR IS CHEVROLET, if not then count teeth and the number is 15.

You could save a lot of time if you went to the TECH TALK and run through the "School is in Session" flip book. It has a good index to save you time.
