I have a 1936 Chevrolet Coach and I have been wrestling with this for a while. My car is an early model standard so I have wood doors with a metal skin. Where do the window sweeps go? The garnish molding and door does not have a horizontal flat surface for placement. They slant toward the outside. I am able to see where the small rubber bumpers go. There are 2 on each side near the last half of the door on each side. I have replaced the window channels but cannot see any evidence of the sweeps being installed on either side. I had ordered the window channel kit from Steele Rubber and it included the sweeps for each side. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, that makes sense. I wanted to check before doing the square peg in the round hole.

Your car did not have the sweeps. I have a '34 Master which has rudimentary rubber sweeps on the glass channel They are by no means waterproof (or are they to prevent rattles?). Anyway, there doesn't appear to be anywhere for the water to go once it gets in the bottom of the door unless maybe out the stiffening rod holes. Were there drain holes there originally?
Best Regards, Pat

I had no glass "sweeps" on my '53 truck...(rotted out)...Ended up causing the glass to crack from slamming the doors...
