The Gremlins seem to have settled into or onto, whichever, my property this week.

First came my new to me 35. It runs very well. Or it did. While I was rebuilding the steering gear box the fuel pump quit working. Then after replacing that it no longer got spark to the plugs. I have no idea why. Everything checks out.

Next came my motorcycle. It wants to run only 2-3 miles and quits. It did that once before. It seems that if I allow it to sit any length of time ethanol fuel messes up the fuel line. It's not hard to replace but still.....

Next came my back up driver, a 2000 Grand Prix. I took it in town a few days ago. It lost 3-4 qts of oil in that 10 mile trip. It's in the shop now. I'm hoping the oil pressure sending unit is the problem.

Today I took my daily driver, a 98 Silverado, in town and half way there it started missing so bad I seriously wondered if it would make the remaining 15 miles.

I wonder if my lawn mower still runs?

Bill, this is called mechanical rebellion. Seems those machines don't like you so much right now. Happens to all of us.

It is kind of like human rebellion. You know. Remember coming home late to a cold plate of ribs and cabbage and the missus already gone to bed and fast asleep? Well, all us guys experience that now and again. The cure for that is chocolates, flowers and/or diamonds. Depending on the severity of the "crime", of course. luv2

Well, the cure for the machinery rebellion is straight, no ethanol, gasoline and an apology. Well, could be. Throw in a tune up, to boot. dance

I bet Tiny apologized to "Sweetie" and then fills her up with straight regular all the time. Right Tiny?

Lemme see...

The motorcycle rebelled because I put it's brother in a shop instead of working on it myself.

The Pontiac rebelled because I was honest with it and called it a POS.

The 35 rebelled because ... ummm... ahhhh... it wants to test me. It's bucking for dominance.

The 98 siverado rebelled because it was jealous that I was spending more money on and time with the other vehicles.

I once fixed my 26 by threatening to put a f*** engine in it. laugh

I did talk to a professional mechanic. Him and another and their boss. They all agreed I should stick with pre-computer vehicles because I understand them.

So I am.

And the gremlins still come and stay. Sometimes I think I should charge them rent and put a mail box up for them

As it turns out the gremlins punched a small hole in the oil filter on the Pontiac. To be a small hole it sure did a good job of spraying oil every where.

Got the 35 running today. Not sure if it was the coil or the condenser. I replaced both.

Two down, two to go.
