G'day Bill
I sent that photo in 2006.
The Moonlight Speedster lives in Qld Aus. It's the only one known.

The last known photos of a 1931 speedster that I am aware of were taken in 1964. A previous owner of the 1932 featured here claims an American shipped one home but there does not seem to be any evidence of that.I believe a Vauxhall Hurlingham turned up at Hershey one year and I have a colour slide of a home made attempt of one that I saw at the Hershey swap meet in 1973.An original 1931 was claimed to have been seen in storage in the early 1970s but has yet to surface.

Ah, shucks. Did you say 1931 or 1932? Speedster?

I got confused. Here's a consolation prize. I blacked-out the license plate to keep the fun going.
yay

Thanks for posting the photos Bill, I had seen them on your 32 site before and had wondered about the cars origin, do you know the story behind it? I think it is a copy and not a bad looking one but there are a lot of differences between it and the real one here. The one here has a Holden body and was built at Woodville in South Australia. The red and black Speedster varies considerably from the red car here firstly the red car has no swage on the bonnet to match the cowl, the front guards(fenders) here were different and had a seam lengthwise from front to back and had a straight swage without the raised v at the front that was on American guards(fenders)also on American back guards (fenders). the dickey seat lid was not cut off square on the top edge when it is open as against the red car here that rises up in the centre, the rear screen is different on the black and red car and the metal divider between the bucket seats doesn't follow through down to the seat base like the red Speedster and the dash on the car here is not flat. I'd like to think that there is another Moonlight Speedster out there somewhere but have never found anything conclusive, I have seen two very good replicas one a 1931 and the other a 1932 in New Zealand and they were hand built in aluminium with the help of the owner of the red Moonlight Speedster and I have photos of them being built. If anyone has any information I am sure there would be a lot interest on this site. There are rumours from time to time about one that is in storage in New Zealand and two in the U.S. and it would be good to prove or disprove them. Is there another Moonlight Speedster out there somewhere ???????????

Here are the pictures of the drawings to the 1931 speedster and town car, both built in Copenhagen.

The drawings are collected from the original leaflet from the Norwegian importer of Chevrolet, C. E. Sontum in Oslo.
