I parked my 36 in the yard two days ago and covered it. Yesterday I tried to move it and the brakes are locked tight. I thought it was just due to the rain and humidity, but I drove in reverse around the house and the breaks were smoking!? It was fine when I parked it. Where do I start?

Are your brakes mechanical or hydraulic? I assume hydraulic, so check linkage, master cylinder then pull the wheels and check to see if a wheel cylinder Is binding. If only one wheel Is smoking, start there.

If the parking brake were set, it would truly be a miracle as the cables are missing

And no anchor to throw out either, I suppose??

Follow P.U. Guy's advice posted earlier. He's my Mr. Goodwrench now and then!

Best regards,

Forgot to follow up on the sticking brake. Turns out the return spring had broken. Replaced the spring and all is right with the world. I like an easy fix.
