I stumbled across this new Meguiars product, a power polishing tool that has a eccentric action as well as changeable pads at Autozone, and decided to give it a try...

Its not cheap, the unit costs some 60 dollars and includes a polishing pad, so I purchased a pak of two compounding pads, they did not have any of the waxing pads at Autozone that day.

I had on hand Turtle Wax compound and polish liquids, so I used them.

I have to say, this DA system works a good bit better than just hand polishing, the results are surprising. I did use each compounding pad seperately, meaning, one just for the black fenders and the other for the body of the car. I finished with Zymol wax.

If you do a google search, you will find its sold by many stores, some which have created a *bundle* of Meguiars products.

Enjoy,

Jay

I have 2 of the DA polishers. You can purchase the 7" pads or the 5 inch.

Meguiars has polishing compounds in heavy, medium, light. Followed by swirl remover and then machine glaze. The compounds use the 7 inch pads = red pads #7000, i use a different one for each compound. Also use #8000 pad yellow colour for the scratch swirl remover and #9000 for the machine glaze. Finish it off with their best wax.

Use their FINAL INSPECTION SPRAY # 14 ??? to clean up the surface between polishings and waxings.

One of their waxes, #7 ? show glaze will pill up on you and does not like humidity at all. !!!!!

Basically using their system you should not polish thru the paint, keep eyes wide open and watch what your doing.

Thanks Mike,

I did not know about all of Meguiar's products, and the inspection spray you list sounds interesting.

I will have plenty of time to practice with them on the next *rub out*

Again, thanks,

Jay

I use some of the Meguier products and basically like them, along with many others like Mothers, but what I find under certain conditions is that they seem to attract dust (like an electrostatic charge). Its worse on high temp or high humidity days from what I've seen, and sometimes after a few hours you see smudgy streaks on the paint even though you wiped it clean the first time. You just wipe it off again and it disappears. But it sure makes the paint shine and takes the streaks/swirls out.

I certainly have to agree with the point concerning water tolerence.being stuck in the rain Thursday the wax did tend to bleed and the only removal is to re wax

for a long time now, I just use Zymol wax, its less caustic on the hands, etc...doesn't seem to bleed in the rain, maybe the shine isn't as popping bright, but still..
