I am about to have my 1941 Special Deluxe Coupe professionaly re-uppolstered, and I want done in as close to original fabrics as possible.

LeBaron Bonney has sent me samples of what they suggest is appropriate for my application. Their recommentation(s) for the 'striped' portions of the seats are either a Bedford Cord or a 'mohair', neither of which is a very close match (pattern/design)to the original fabric. My question with the striped fabric is: was it originally a Bedford Cord or was it mohair? And secondly, besides LeBaron Bonney, are there any other vendors you can recommend?

LeBaron Bonney recommends a wool 'broadcloth' for the door panels and seat borders. Is that the proper fabric type, or was it a mohair? Any other vendors?

LeBaron Bonney's headliner fabric, and their vinyl (trim) fabric appear to be close to original, and they have a coachlace (windlace) fabric wich looks fairly correct.

So any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks much,
Roy

Not to worry, it happens to all of us.

Lets ask Ken to move this up to the '41 forum. There old Charlie will put you on the right path. After all, they don't call him Mr. '41 Special Delux for nothing.

Sounds like we're all set then Roy.

We all make mistakes once in a while. All is good.

I don't know about your 41 fabric pattern but the 48 was just judged at the NW meet and with the HC fabrics there was no question of them being correct

Thats because 9 out of 10 judges do no know what is correct for every model.
If the interior was installed correctly and with period type materials you will seldom get points deducted.
