Yep, he's a Prowler man now. He still sticks his head in the door on occasion.

The Prowler came from Laugna Beach Ca., I had it shipped to Atlanta and drove it to Tennessee. Ebay.

I ran into a problem with my birth cert., I decided at 67 it was time to quit laying on that concrete and stop standing on my head to look under the dash. My wife said " I'm gonna have to drag you out from under that old car one of these days just to get a last look at you before they haul you off"

I thought I was going to stay in the game long enough to see old Charlies finished product but that didn't happen. Maybe he'll send me a photo someday. winner

Very nice roadster. My son and I were discussing just last night if any of todays American made cars will be sought after as collector cars 50-80 years plus down the road. We agreed the Prowler would definately be one of them, unique design concept, rare, topless, great cachet, etc. Take good care of it and 50 years from now you will be able to get your investment back many fold. Cheers

Gunsmoke, 50 years from now, he'll be 117 years old!!!

Steve, I'm 76 and still wrestle with this ol' 41 SD Town Sedan. At 67, you quit far too early. Get yourself a nice '41 club coupe and get back into it.

'Sure miss having you and that sharp, green '38 coupe on here.

I know he'll be 117, people have lived that long before, and with modern medical breakthroughs, 120 will be ordinary by then. Gotta believe!.

GS,

That's an interesting prediction of what will be a car collector's item someday. Even 50 years from now. I don't see it. But I could be wrong. I see that Prowler as a candidate for low end museums only. And there ain't that many museums around.

Reason for my low opinion of the Prowler is:

a. They ain't that popular even now.

b. They look like Chrysler forgot to make dies for front fenders, and said, "Well, shucks, instead of junking the whole project we'll go to California and get some front 50's hot rod fenders and sell 'um as they are. Somebody will buy the dang things. After all we still have dealerships in Tennessee." idea Agrin stressed

c. Try as they may those prowlers will never be anything like a Corvette, Porsche 911, Lambrigini, or Ferrari. Pardon the spelling. I don't speak no foreign 'cept Australian. And have trouble with that. dance

d. They are cheaply made. About the same material will build about half of a Yugo.

e. They are about as ugly as Heavenly Helen the next morning. Look like some kind of a bug. A June Bug. And probably attracted to stinkin' locals. Get the connection? Visualize one nosed up to an outhouse. (Sorry VW no connection to your "Bug" was intended or any degrading of your relatively fine product.) monkey

f. Maybe I'm just POed cause 'ol Steve left us for the equivalent of Minnie Pearl when he already had Grace Kelly. (Sorry, Minnie) Must be the TN connection. Again.

g. I just miss Steve's posts. Most honest of my grips. I suppose. bike

Steve needs to go to church like Alvin York did and get on his knees, promise the Lord that he will mend his taste for "mid life crisis" stuff and in the future cling to things more fitting a proper car enthusiast, i.e. a 1941 Special Deluxe Coupe, the worlds most beautiful car, bar none. drool luv2 Agrin

Can I get an amen? bowdown

I'm just a-kiddin' you, Steve.

Steve,

Whilst the threat in itself hardly warrants my poor ol' attention being its so laughable, the fact remains that you may actually drive that Prowler over here. And that fact causes me to reconsider my brilliant post. Read on.

You see, the children who play on my street are bible taught, god-fearing and unsophisticated in the ways of the world and, beings how theys just little tender, easily frightened tots, they might interpret that thing a-coming down the street as a predecessor of the rapture a-happening. (Remember the Bible part?) Scare the Bee-Jesus outta them! Would too!

So owing to the unknown strength of your awful threat and the fulfillment of it being realized in the worst possible way (remember the Prowler part), and my deep felt obligation to protect our young-uns over here, I promise to be good from now on. Do too! Agrin

I would suggest attaching "wings" to the prowler and "buzz" Charlies computer house a few times to see if "I thought they's was aliens" works, for the gun toting, god fearing, bible thumper's...Problem solved... laugh

OK,OK...I'm not coming over the big hill you get you! First it was my 38 GREEN chevy coupe and now my union made, made in the US,hand built, all aluminum, rare masterpiece is being trashed !! It's not like I bought a Toyoto...gheez
The kids are safe but you'll have to deal with the guilt of not letting them ride in such a beautiful car. (will to)

I'm still waiting for the latest photo of the 41 coupe, I mean it's been years now, the clock is ticking.

I think we need a vote on whether you should post a photo or not.

OK..I vote YES
