Good Day All
Could someone email a picture of the windshield wiper stud that goes thru the body. I think mine might be broken off as it sticks out about 3/8 of an inch. And I can't figure out how the wiper arm might fit on it.
Thanks mcoats07@comcast.net

Do you have the arm with the spring loaded clip on it? The arm also has a 90 degree wire end that inserts into a hole in the wiper shaft and the spring loaded clip slips over the shaft into a retaining groove.

Good Day Everyone
I purchased the arm from the Filling Station. But the stub that sticks thru the body does not have a hole in it. The stub sticks out past the body 3/8 of an inch. I think it might be broken off. My question is how far should the stub stick past the body? Or could someone please email me a picture of one?
Thanks

Good Day Everyone.
I took a look at the pictures and mine is definitely broken off. The section with the hole in it is missing. My search is on for a good wiper pin ( the part that sticks thru the body)... If anyone has one they are willing to part with please give me an email at mcoats07@comcast.net.

Thanks for sending the pictures.

If I understand your problem, it would be best to start a search for another wiper motor. If your shaft is broken off it means the complete shaft and paddle will have to be replaced which may cost more than to find another motor.

I feel for you as my 1928 special cabriolet wiper motor was accidentally pushed off the table and when it hit the concrete floor it decided to go various ways and not as a unit. Been looking for a replacement for longer than I can remember.

The wiper arm does not attach to the motor shaft. There is a linkage mechanism (wiper transmission) that the motor connects to and the arm attaches to a shaft at the end of the link.

I just want to say "the people on this site are fantastic". I was able to find out what was wrong with my 32 Chev. And I was offered a rare part I needed to get my windshield wipers to work. Ive owned this car for fifty (yes thats 50) years and finally will get a working windshield wiper due to the people on this site. Thank you very very much.

Mike,
I recently had my Trico wiper motor rebuilt by a man in NY. It's called (Rob) Ficken Wiper Service - wiperman.com For $100, he completely rebuilt it and it is beautiful. I've got you beat though as I've owned my '31 Special Sedan for 51 years. The wiper quit about 20 years ago.

I would recommend him to everyone.
Happy Motoring,
Bill

I finally was able to get the wiper motor and linkage working. Im still not quite sure how to get he wiper arm installed properly. There is a "U" shaped plate inside the wiper arm. How does that fit over the pin?

The wire fits into the hole and "U" shaped plate into the slot. That will put the spring pressure holding the blade against the glass.
