Fellas,

Can someone tell me just how tall, meaning literally, to the top of the cab, is a 1928 York bodied 1/2 ton pickup. This body was built in April of 1928, so it is not a York-Hoover, etc. It has typical 21 inch wheels with 440/450 x 21 tires.

I am a bit concerned about clearance getting it into my garage, if it all happens to work out I get it in the first place.

Thanks,

Jay

My 1926 1/2 ton is just shy of 7 feet to top of cab. I have to push the garage door all the way up to get it out.
Hope that helps.

Yes, that helps, it will probably just clear. Hope I would not have to let some air out of tires.

Funny thing, a few years ago, when I had my 1926 Model T Coupe, that bugger was at least 6' 8 inches, but had I purchased a 1925 or previous year, they nearly all topped out 7'4 inches....I knew people who had Tourings or Roadsters would drop the tops down to get them into garages, as well as let air out of hardtops...eeeekkkkk.

Evening J

Another car to the fine collection coming up?

Do you still have the originals that I know and love, apart from the T that is.

Cheers

Ray

Some say "Street is neat". I prefer "1928 is great"

I have documented my 45 years with a 1928 Chev Tourer, from 1973 to 2018, and regulary add other items that I hope are of interest to others. Your comments are most welcome. The story of the Red Chev can be viewed at http://my28chev.blogspot.com/

I used to have to use c-clamps to to hold the door that extra inch or two and I had to take the trim off the door. I fixed that by acquiring a building with 12 foot tall doors. I also bought an enclosed car trailer that is one foot taller then standard.
