Did my 1929 coupe originally have a dome light or any type of interior lighting?

Not sure on the coupe but I know my 1929 4 Door sedan has a dome light.

Here are a couple shots of the Wiring & Actual Dome Light. In the First Picture, you can see the wires running up the pillar by the passenger rear door. Dome Light WireDome Light 01Dome Light 02

The 29 Coach also had a dome lite. Switch on the passenger side lock pillar.

Thanks for the info and pictures. I still can't tell if my car ever had one or not, I knew the sedans did. Going to look at a car similar to mine soon and will see if it has anything.
Thanks again.

I don't believe that the '29 Coupe had a dome light. My '28 never had one and also don't believe the '30 did either. Since I haven't done extensive research and don't have either a '29 or '30 Coupe could be wrong. The Sedan and Coach definitely had dome light.

In addition the passenger door lock post would have the pocket for the switch.

I have a 29 coupe in original condition. They did not have a dome light.

Here are some shots of the post with the wiring, switch pocket, as well as the roof woof for the dome light out of my 1929 Sedan, no roof on the Sedan Yet... You can see groove in the wood for the wire, as well as the Pocket in the post (wire is coiled up right now) for the switch. My car has all new wood in the roof and no top on yet, also no headliner. I don't see anything on the pillar for a switch or anything on my wiring harness for a dome light.
I looked at a '29 Pontiac coupe yesterday, original car in nice shape. It had two dash or map lights but nothing in the roof. Oh, and in case anyone is interested, Pontiac used the same Fisher body for this year that Chevy did, at least for the coupe. Thanks everyone.

There is a member in our region who bought a 29 Pontiac sedan from another member. I looks nothing like our 29 Chev and I do not think anything will interchange. The brakes are cable - similar to 30 Chev, but different. The body has an indented line down the entire side about 1 inch deep and two inches wide. The radiator is a crossflow not vertical like my Chev. Many more differences...

Hi Beachbum
Yes, the cars look different on the outside and the mechanicals are different but underneath I think you will find the same Fisher wood body. That's what I was refering to.
