Hey Fella's

I'm looking for some original 1940 Chevy fender skirts. Even some pictures would be helpful. Someone told me that 1940 Chevy and 1940 Ford skirts are the same, can anyone clarify that.

Thank you

I can say that '40 Chevrolet skirts are different than '40 Ford skirts.

The 1940 Chev skirts look like the same design as Foord used in 1940. Then most after market skirts of the day looked like that also.
If you send me your email address I can send you a picture.

SOLJER,

i hope you find the fender skirts you're seeking.

There was a few model years, like 1949 thru 1954 (i think), that they were almost essential to the better looks of the car. However, there were years when they added nothing much and even take away from the better looks of the car without them.

There were years when it was marginal as to the detraction or improvement. 1941 was one of those years. Especially if one did not have the gap spacer to go on the bottom of the fender shield.

As to putting them on a 1940 I doubt you will improve the looks. Nonetheless, entirely your call.

The above thoughts are strictly my opinion, nothing more.

Good luck,
Charlie computer

Can anyone post a picture of those 1940 skirts? I've never seen a pair of genuine ones and knew what I was looking at.

Thanks,
Charlie computer
