I know Dawg explained the simple proceedure for setting polarity on a '31 Generatora few months back, but a search didn't pick it up. I suspect it is buried in an unrelated topic heading. Anyway, Dawg, if your on site today for a consult, can you tell me again, promise to write it down this time! Seems to me it was just to run a wire across the two conections on the cutoff switch, or something simple like that?

m006840, I could not find the post based on the number you provided, the search will not do so by number. Anyway, from memory, I jumped for a second the cutout switch from power to opposite side and got a spark and a click. Now ammeter is showing charging when previously recording discharging, so that must be method. If you had given me the topic title I would likely have found it easily. Cheers.

Here is a direct link to Post #285641 noted above: Re: Did I burn the cutout? - 34 Master

Quote about Polarizing Generator from Post #285641:

Sorry about that Gunsmoke, sometimes I forget that our search feature is next to useless. Glad to see you have solved your problem.
