I've got 55 keys that I found in some of my Dad's stuff. He told me that he had a set of Master keys that would fit all Chevrolet locks from the late 30's through the early 60's that he got from the local Chevrolet garage. He was never able to find them but remembered having them. He passed away this spring and I found them today. I tried them on my '51 parts car and found one that works for it. I'm curious if 55 is the correct number or how many different ones there are? Thanks Don

Don,
A few years back I purchased what was advertised as a master key set, much as you describe. It has more than 55 keys--more like 100. I have used it since, with mixed success. I've found keys for some locks (several 38 doors), but have not been successful with others. Good luck with your set!

I seem to remember that there were over 100 keys in the '35-'66 master set. I'm to lazy to count the keys on my set.
How Sweet the roar of a Chevy four!

I talked with a friend last night who has a set. He advised that there were 2 rings with a total of over 100 keys. I borrowed the set recently to open a lock without a key. I was very lucky - it opened using the 7th key on the first ring! Sid
