My 37 p/u presently has a iffy 235 and started to locate a early tall side cover 235 to do a full oil pressure conversion but if my 235 goes kaboom in the mean time I was thinking about installing a 216 until I can get the early 235 built,my 37 has a T-5 and 3.55 gears and wondering if the 216 would be spinning too slow with it in 5th on the highway to get plenty of oil.

Just don't use to heavy of oil in it. Most guys prefer 10-30 or 5-30. You need the oil to "mist" to lubricate the cylinder walls.

If I end up using a 216 I will have to remember not to grab the 30 weight oil I put my older vehicles.

On the highway it gets oil best when working at about 2500 RPM and up..

I use Straight 30W in my 216 for the past 6 years. Just seems to run smoother, and less noisey then when I used the 10w30?????
Their was an overdrive unit offered by a company called Truckstell, it was called the "Tip-Toe-Matic" Its Extreamly RARE!! Been looking for one for 10 years.....

Tip-toe-matic sounds like the two speed planetary transmission used on Mopar cars with the fluid drives and thru the mopar torque convertors in the first Dodge Red Ram v/8s of 1953, and maybe 1954.
If i remember correctly Chevrolet used 20 wt and 30 Wt. up thru the 1980s?

Good day, by any chance did you ever get a hold of a Truckstell OverDrive? I just picked one up from my best friend. He purchased a 1947 Fleetline AeroSedan. He upgraded everything to the 350. He wants to get it ready and drive off to Vegas. I recently purchased a 1946 Fleetline AeroSedan. I just picked up this Truckstell and will be installing it into my ride. I just need to get more information on the linkage. Thanks Carlos J.

You'll likely have better luck sending him a PM or email. His last post was a month and a half ago. This thread is over 6 months old prior to your posts.
