Can anyone help me, I have a 1935 Master 2 dr. sedan and don't know where to look for the vin. number. Is it stamped in the frame or body? Is it on a plate some where? Thanks.

Hi there and welcome to Chevy Chatter. Glad to have you with us.

There are no numbers stamped on the frame, and VIN numbers were not used in 1935 either. The number that you are looking for is called a "car serial number". The car serial number is stamped on a metal plate that is attached via small nails to the passenger side wood main sill, just ahead of the front seat and facing the passinger side door under the floor mat. Many times the car serial number plate is missing because of wood rot of the main sill, so the plate may be missing.

The 1935 Master was the first to have a steel floor and a steel top......all nailed to wood.

I looked on passenger floor around front of seat and near door and did not find any plate or holes where a plate might have been screwed to the floor. Can anyone show me a picture of what I am looking for? Thanks.

That is the correct plate; you will need a number & letter set to punch the numbers into the plate; I did this on the 34 Master....JIM
