Charlie all I can say,I dought if there is any"original 48 batterys out there,as for many things such as interior, they are all reproduction and the goal is to get as close to original as all possible..I think the Delco circle looks correct?I am not happy with its performance though,I still think it has cause me misfortune in the past?

I understand. I have seen these batteries for sale at Hershey and Carlisle. Thought about getting one for the project, if I ever get that far. I have heard that they are not the most reliable. I think they may be just good enough to get the car on the show grounds, but not much more. I guess one could always put on in and use a good jumper. Sad for all that money Charlie

Glad to hear it works well! Pretty pricey, though!! I thought my Antique Auto Battery was pretty expensive at $225. First one I got from them leaked, but they replaced it and the 2nd one has been outstanding. Of course, it's a Chevrolet Bowtie model which we now know isn't correct. Don't tell the judges east of the Mississippi! :-)

Dale I guess the price is in being maintenance free,..You can't lose points on your chevy bowtie, just take your 48 shop manual as donumentation, the chevy bowtie battery is the only one pictured in there..I should be the one to worry?

No, I'm now convinced the Delco is the correct battery. All the 1948 ads I've seen for Delco batteries all say Delco. Haven't seen a 1948 Delco ad with the Chevrolet bowtie. Next battery I get will be a Delco, but I hope to get 3 or 4 more years out of this one!
