I'm hoping to find a way to know what color my car was originally painted. Unfortunately, the tag on the firewall is missing.
Are there any other factory tags I should look for that would tell me that info?
Does a cross reference exist that links the engine/frame number back to the car numbers/factory info?
Thanks 1936 Chevy Standard Coach

Your best hope is to find a small amount of paint that remains in a hidden or covered spot. Carefully removing paint layers until you get to the layer just above the primer on bare metal can be the original color if the car was not completely stripped. If stripped then look for a place that might not have been stripped.

A couple of good places to look is up under the Body where the Rear Fenders fit, inside the Trunk Lid or under the Body below where the Doors are.

Many times you can look on top of the passenger door. With the door open; stand on running board and look down.

I polished up some of the paint today and it's black. I think I go back with that or maybe admiral blue.
