I'm waiting for wood for my doors and want to start getting the molding ready. Mine is painted Manganese Blue but from other threads I've read, it seems they may have been a wood grain finish. Which is correct (paint code 99, Trim 17)?

On the garnish mouldings, a walnut wood grain finish is correct for the Special Sedan.

What color of walnut would you recommend? So far I've found 4 shades of Dark Walnut and 2 of light Walnut (from Grain-it Technologies).

Don't know about your source, but I had a quart of automotive paint mixed to a color that is identical to the maroon on the body of my 31. With a black grain put on by a notched sponge brush it came out perfect on my sample piece. Haven't done them all yet but it is coming up on my list.

The wood grain was a dark walnut.

VCCA13,
I suspect the woodgraining you are referring to is the Mahogany on a 1931 which has a maroon undercoat and not the Dark Walnut on a 1932 which has a brown undercoat.
