Hi guys -

Working on a '50 4-door DeLuxe that I just bought. Previous owner had someone run into the center rear of the car, which bent in the rear bumper and pushed in a bit on the rear area right below the license plate. I can't quite bang out all of the sheet metal in that area - is the trunk floor easy enough to unscrew/unbolt to access that remaining spot? It's hard to tell from a lookover how the trunk floor is attached.

If I might try a different angle...is it as easy or easier to just pull out the dent with a dent puller, if the trunk floor is not easy to pull off? I can't tell if it is held by screws or rivets...

The trunk floor is spot welded in place if it has not been altered.

are you talking about the rear splash pan that runs along area below the the lites, license plate etc if this is the case you take the bumper off whether it be the bumper bolts or the 4 long bolts that hold the bumper brackets to the frame then there are about 10-12 sheet metal screws holding that pan then you can easily do whatever you have to do to repair the splah pan hope this helps andy

Thanks guys.

No, not the gravel pan. That indeed was smooshed in, so I bought a new replacement from the Filling Station.

I mean the center of the trunk area directly behind the license plate, just above the gravel pan. That got pushed in a bit directly under the license plate light. I can bang out the top part of that dent, but I can't reach the bottom part of it below the lip of the trunk floor.

If the trunk floor is welded on (as mentioned), it sounds like I just have to do my best to pull it out - correct?
