The drivers door on my 1950 Chevy Coupe will open to wide and wil fold back to the fromt fender if I'm not careful. Is there some kind of "stop" within the door that is supposed to prevent the door from opening to wide?
Thanks for your help

There is a door check link between the door and front door post that keeps the door from opening too far. It is the same part that is on the passenger door.

The Filling Station does have them. They are not exact as OEM but do work.

How 'bout a (sorta) related problem: my driver's door doesn't latch all the way closed. Close it and it partially pops back open. Wonder if maybe this might not be "common" oroblem as long ago in a far away galaxy(early 1960's in New Jersey to be precise) my best friend had a '49 fast back with a passenger side door that would fly open when he turned hard left(source of many not so bright teenage chuckles as the unsuspecting were nearly jettisoned). Visual inspection of right vs left door striker plate etc reveals nothing Anybody had this problem and "snap" knows what my problem is?
Thanks Ed Ides
