what is the correct way to route the heater hose on a deluxe heater i think ive got it right but just want to make sure.looking at the firewall i have the top hose (longest hose)coming out of the top outlet of the water pump securing itself to the side of the box and going into the valve on the left side.then i have the 2 shorter hosees going into the box and leading back to the pump. hope it the way supposed to be but a pic would be worth a thousand words thanks andy

Just remember it takes two shutoff valves to stop a heater core leak. One on the inflow side and one on the out. One valve only cuts off the flow of hot water to the heater. In the case of a leak water will still flow from the other direction.

the heater core has been tested at the local radiator shop and passed with flying colors i was only concerned with the valve at the firewall when i took the fan unit and vent off to repaint there was signs of water leaking i put a another valve in and was just thinking that i could shut or slow down the amount of water going thru the valve if i have to get another shut off valve i will just dont want any water leaking into the interior thanks andy

FWIW, I always bypass the heater in summer on any car without aircond. Even if you don't turn the fan on, these ol' heaters radiate a lot of unwanted heat.
