Hello Fellas,

I would like to safely remove the inner piece to add more fluid. I attempted to pull out the inside plastic reservoir/compartment but it gets stuck. Should I used soap and water? Thanks.

TOTALLY AGREE!!! I would just live with it no matter what direction it said. These have become incredibly "ridiculous" is price. One false move with old plastic could cost you over $2000.

But I do want to make it work if all possible.

Because of the overall condition of the compass and the box with the instructions you have something there that is worth BIG BUCKS!! Leave it alone!!! If you break the compass, and it is easy to do, you will be losing several thousand dollars in value. If it bothers you because the compass is not working, then sell it to someone that will enjoy the compass for what it is.
