Hi guys! I'm from Philly. I've been working on a '32 5 window for the last three years. I was directed here from a friend on another forum and I'm glad he did, VCCA looks great! My car is not stock, so I hope I'm still welcomed here. Anyway, I'm happy to be here and I look forward to meeting you guys and learning something too!

Right now, my dumb newbie question is; I need either the ratchet/stepped piece for the cowl vent or a picture/diagram of one so I can cut one out of sheetmetal. Any ideas or thoughts? Thanks!! Jim

Sorry I can't help with your '32 Coupe. Don't have one or any '32 passenger for that matter. I am sure that someone with specific information will see your request and help.

Yes you are welcome. Just understand that we are a preservation/restoration organization so prefer original over modified. We also understand that you paid your money for the car and you can do what you want with it. If you feel a little less than enthusiastic reception, please understand some folks are just that "a-way".

I assume that this is the same as my '31 Landau. If so, there is no "stepped" or "ratchet" piece.

I have a 32 sedan with the cowl top center vent and can try to get a picture for you. Not sure if mine is complete, but it does have a serrated link attached to the cowl cover. I am not sure how it locks in place as I do not see anything that engages the serrations. Send me your email address in a PM and I can send it direct to you.

I'd be interested in knowing what this is. My Landau only has a small round plunger which is "spring loaded". So, essentially it is either OPEN or CLOSED. The ratching effect is an off-center pivot that opens it, or closes it.
