My question is: Will these tires fit in the Standard Fender Well on a 1931 Special? Thanks, Al W.

On my 31 coupe I had to go with 5.00x19 just to get them in the fender well. If they are full of air they are still tight to get in. Hope that this helps.

You can purchase the correct Goodyear Diamond tread tires from Kelsey tire that will fit the well without deflating them. In the user list there a guy named smallhurst that can get us tires at a discount from Kelsey. You can contact Rusty Small at 816-654-3400...Joe

The correct size for a 31 is 4.75 x 19. The Goodyear diamond tread is that size.

I agree. The wells on my '31 measure just under 5.5" at max width, and the 5.0 x 19 tires I have are snug fit in some places with about 15-20 lbs pressure in them.

I'm currently converting our Standard to a Special. I put beautiful Firestone Wide Whites in size 5.50/6.00 X 19 on the car and she looks great! I still intend to add the Front Wells to the Fenders but will most likely find a suitable Well. Anyone have a thought to share? Thanks, Al W.
