I have a 1949 1/2 ton with a 216. I had the engine rebuilt less than 2 years ago and they used the rope seals. Has anyone come out with neoprene seals for the 216? I really don't like the oil leaking and the mess it makes. I am showing my truck in concours and it is a hassle to keep cleaning the oil off of the underside.
Any info will be appreciated.

If you want to convert to a lip seal you need to have the block machined for it to work. You may want to look for a NOS rope seal or a Best Gasket seal and when having it installed make sure that your bearings are adjusted to the tight side.
