Does anyone have a photo of the hood hook set for a 1931 Chevrolet? The set on my car appear to have been replaced at one time.

The '31 Chevys all used the "Candy Cane" style hood hooks. I don't have a photo handy. The '29-'30 Chevys used three different hood hooks, one was the "Candy Cane" style.

My 31 doesn't follow that pattern Chipper. I guess the SD could be an exception...Joe

Joe,
Canadian vehicles have different hood hooks from USA. Is is possible that your SD was Canadian? They had the hook type hood latch system. Also a ton of other differences in 1931 USA to Canada.

If you look in the parts book it show pictures of the various types of hood hooks and their application. I do have a picture of the candy cane latches. If you give me your e-mail I will send it to you. oldcarz@aol.com

With more research by Joe and I seems that some early production '31 vehicles from Oakland CA may have carried over the '30 "T" type hood spring loaded hooks. In this case it is a Sedan Delivery.
