After finally getting the last radiator part, I put the power to the engine and it started up on the first hit. Freshly rebuilt engine done by myself, rebuilt carb with help from Chipper, runs like a charm. Adjusted valves, good oil pressure, and sounds good. Will soon be driving the chassis around my 5 acres prior to fitting the Phaeton body.

Awesome... Glad to hear the progress and success. So what will be your seat of choice ? Milk Crate ?

Just think it is cool to test drive a complete running chassis around without any body !! like a big boy gokart :)

Lawn chair "U" bolted to 2 X 4s across the main frame. None of this amateurish stuff for me!

I recently was in your shoes. My 31 sat for 20+ years and after doing just a Valve Job I started her up. I've been driving the 31 quite a bit and find that the more I drive it, the better the engine runs. Good Luck with your project! Al W.
