CC, As to question, well, yeah, I suppose. You can take pleasure in knowing that they are not as quite as ugly as the one for 41. I kind of like the regular old round chrome extension that is available in almost any auto parts store. Still, If i had a nice, as you do, 47/48 I would want a 47 one on it as I do for the 41 project. I'd go for it. Charlie

Bruce, I have looked over the accessories list many times. I do not see a exhaust extension listed. Are you sure it is an "official" item. Just asking! Accessories

He shows on in the original box with the Chevy logo in his second post. I bet the low riders would love it. I've seen worse looking tips.

Tiny, yes I saw the picture with the 2 different extensions. Also, does not indicate for '48 anywhere on the box that I can see.
I did not find it on the acc. list so I was just wondering.
Now, thanks to the "book" page 129, it is shown, very clearly.

I dunno, it kind of looks like you ran over a bear and it's trying to crawl out from under the car.

The evelution of exhaust systems have gone from not wanting to see the tip of the exhaust pipe to now in the modern day, a must. Do you notice all the exhaust openings in todays cars? Maybe, it's a fad thing. Don't know. Tiny, I just knew CC's tip reminded me of something. You hit the nail on the head. Did too. I think he should leave it on. Maybe install a few reflectors on it. What do you think? Charlie

GET YOUR ACCESSORIES ON! accessories is just part of the lowrider culture, some guys focus just on the GM accessoeries, some on anything and everything that was sold during that time period. I prefer the factory GM accessory. all my cars are accessorized, from my 38/39 to 59`s and the next one is a 35 and 36 convert. fully restored cars, with factory accessories is what CALIF IS ALL ABOUT

that`s funny, i know a few guys that are ACCESSORY KINGS OVER HERE.
I HAVE SEEN DISPLAY CASES WORTH over 6 FIGURES. and that`s not counting the cars they have.
just like in any hobby, you have the guys that compete for the most, and the best

I dunno, it kind of looks like you ran over a bear and it's trying to crawl out from under the car. Oh, it is a bear...Some of the chrome just rubbed off on his attempt to get out from undernieth... Now he/she is now a black bear...Stand clear for a while and DON'T park in the garage for awhile...Reminds me of the story about a buddy who shot a turkey and put it in the camper shell of his truck, only to find it wasn't really dead after all...Lucky the camper shell is still in one piece...

I dig the bear claw, but my wife has vetoed any exhaust extensions or fender skirts on our car. "Its not that kinda car". I'd wear yours proudly Kevin.
