Yes....It is an Impala with a SuperSport option that includes an 8 cylinder engine. Not a happy engine/chassis combination in a front wheel drive car.
They also have an oil consumption problem. The engine has the cylinder deactivation feature and the pistons/rings on the cylinders that cut out plug up with carbon. Chevrolet will fix it under the 100,000 mile warranty.

Thank you Gene. I will be looking into this because it has started to consistently use several quarts of oil in 2000 miles. This car has 86K.

Chevrolet makes the dealer try to de-carbon the engine first but it dosen't work. The new redesigned pistons and rings are what is needed.
