Hi, folks - I am looking at a 1956 210 wagon, 4 door, 265 Power Pack, PG automatic. I have a photo that shows a portion of the rear suspension, below. It looks like there are two separate leaf springs visible. Does this make sense or look familiar to anyone? Is this a wagon-only arrangement of some type? Some kind of after-market "helper spring"? or what? Thanks for any thoughts at all.

It is an after market helper spring. The original factory spring would have had 5 leaves for a 2 seat wagon and 6 leaves for a 3 seat.
If it is a real power pac the brake and gas lines will be on the outside of the frame (right side). The break lines will have the protective coil spring around the in the wheel area.

Thanks, Gene! That's what I was kind of suspecting. Engine number ends with suffix "...F56FB" which my books tell me is "F" = Flint, "56" = 1956, and the "FB" is Powerglide, Power Pack, and no A/C. Brake and fuels lines do have the coil spring wrap, but are not the originals.

I think I might buy this wagon... would be good to drive to Tahoe in 2016.

Supposedly 69,000 miles, numbers say built in CA, original interior, original paint on most of the top areas of the car -

This would be a great car to drive to Lake Tahoe in 2016 with a trailer hitch on the back towing a 1914 Chevy.

Laugh if you will, but I was actually thinking about this being a possible tow vehicle. I could get a frame mounted hitch, an Ultralight open trailer, and then I could tow Miner's '40 home from the Central Meet.....

Don, I appreciate your offer to tow my '40 home from the Central Meet. However, you just do not understand. When the '40 coupe wins Best of Show at the 50th Central Meet in Port Huron, Michigan in July, I will not be trailering the '40 back home. My '40 has a bumper sticker on the back bumper which reads............

If you see this car on a trailer....consider it stolen.

Great find, Don. Good friend of mine purchased "same car" (excpet red were yours is turquoise) at
Portland Swap Meet around 2006. He still has it. Loves it. Hope yours works out same.

Bill.
