OK ,i see what you mean. The 1 9/32 was the measurement in the combined 1929 4 cylinder part book online at Keith Hardy's chevy manual site.
So must be a typo or mistake in that printing.
I went back to my 1924 parts book , and it does list the connecting rod bolt as 1 3/4' long 3/8'-24 tpi.
3/8" rod bolts should be a common size. bigblock chevs and 400 small block chevs use them. Maybe you can compare the length at your local engine rebuilding shop.
