Does anyone know where to get new connecting rod bolts (part # 888)?

Connecting rod bolts are the same up to 1928 .
Part number 345428 .
They are 3/8" - 24 by 1" 9/32 long

Can they be obtained?

I found that P/N and that length listed for all the models and years for 4 cylinders but that seems funny to me. If you go to the original parts books from 1918 it shows the rod bolts to be 2" for FA and FB and 1 3/4" for the 490 and also the Model D (except 4 of theModel D bolts are special for the splash oil system).The Model T is the same of course as the FA and FB since they used the same engine. Way back the P/N for the 490 and Model D was 888. The P/N for the others was M-107. I can understand these part numbers being superseded, but where did they come up with 1 9/32"? I don't see that for any particular car in any old parts book. It shows up later for all of the cars. Strange!

But, anyway, what are you guys doing for rod bolts when you rebuild or refurbish your engines? All the used ones I've seen show really stretched or worn threads. I don't want to use those.

If there were a source would anyone besides me want some?

OK ,i see what you mean. The 1 9/32 was the measurement in the combined 1929 4 cylinder part book online at Keith Hardy's chevy manual site.
So must be a typo or mistake in that printing.
I went back to my 1924 parts book , and it does list the connecting rod bolt as 1 3/4' long 3/8'-24 tpi.

3/8" rod bolts should be a common size. bigblock chevs and 400 small block chevs use them. Maybe you can compare the length at your local engine rebuilding shop.
