If it's on the inside of the car it's nickle. If it's outside it's chrome...Joe

I have a broken chrome plated windshield frame, can it be soldered?... do I need a special soldering material or procedure?

I am not completely sure. Based on pictures on internet, I understand that the roadster version is the one that has spare tires mounted on the sides in a recessed place on each wheel cover. For the cabriolet I understand does not have spare wheels, which is the case of my car... am I correct? Thank you for your comments. Gerardo

Gerardo Roadsters don't have side windows. Cabriolets have roll up side windows. Roadster are made by Chevrolet & Cabriolets are made by Fisher Body. Where the spare is mounted has no bearing on what it is...Joe

The Cabriolet and Landau Phaeton had die-cast windshield posts that were made from "white metal". It can be welded by an expert using a rod made from white metal (alloys of zinc, aluminum, magnesium, copper, lead, tin). Many welders make their own filler rods by melting die-cast pieces and drawing or pouring into a rod. Replacement posts have been made, one set was made too short so beware that any purchases are properly made.

Thank you for your comments, Chipper. For me now it´s pretty sure that I am working on a cabriolet. Could you provide any indication as where to find some winshield frame parts?... as an alternative to welding, because the right-hand part is broken, some small pieces and the right post are missing.
